FTP ( File Transfer Protocol )

FTP ( File Transfer Protocol ) is used for transferring files to and from a computer system. It is mainly used for uploading web pages, as well as downloading files from a remote system.

The following is instructions on how to go about uploading your web page to First Link using Cute-FTP.

You will need to download a copy of Cute FTP and install it on your computer system. Once you have done this, load the program and follow the instructions below:

Load up Cute FTP and you should get a screen that looks similiar to the below:

When you have this screen ( or similiar ) above, click on Add Site and you should get an Add Host window appear as below. Edit your window to look the same, except in username use your own username and in the password enter in your own password. These are the same username and password you use to connect to First Link normally. Once you have entered in your details you will be able to click ok.

Once you have clicked ok on the screen above, you should get a similiar screen showing, which looks the same as below.

All you need to do now to connect to upload your web site is to double click on First Link Internet Services and it will take you through.

You will need to source out your files on the left hand side, and then go into the public_html on the right hand side and upload your files here.
