Internet Explorer 3.x Proxy Setup

Open up Internet Explorer 3.x, select View from the menu bar and select Options. Click on the Connection tab. Ensure Connect through a proxy server is ticked and then click on Settings.

This will now bring up the proxy server configuration details. What you should do here is click in HTTP and enter the address of proxy to use as proxy.syd.fl.net.au, then click in Port and enter in the port number as 8080.

Towards the bottom of the window you will see Use the same proxy for all server protocols. Ensure this is ticked and then click OK.

Click OK and your browser has now been configured to use First Link's proxy server.


 Internet Explorer 4.x Proxy Setup

Open up Internet Explorer 4.x, select View from the menu bar and select Internet Options. Click on the Connection tab. Under the Automatic configuration click on Configure. This will pop up a screen where you can enter in the automatic proxy configuration URL. Enter in http://www.fl.net.au/confproxy.pac in the space provided and click OK.

Click OK and your browser has now been configured to use First Link's proxy server.


 Netscape Navigator 3.x Proxy Setup

Open up Netscape Navigator 3.x, select Options from the menu bar and select Network Preferences. Click on the Proxies tab. Ensure you have Automatic proxy configuration ticked. Enter in http://www.fl.net.au/confproxy.pac in Configuration Location URL space provided and click OK.

Your browser has now been configured to use First Link's proxy server.


 Netscape Communicator Proxy Setup

Open up Netscape Communicator, select Edit from the menu bar and select Preferences. Under Category, double click on Advanced and click on Proxies. You should now have a screen that looks the very similiar to the below screen.

You should click on Automatic proxy configuration and fill in the configuration URL as http://www.fl.net.au/confproxy.pac (as shown below).

You can now click OK and your web browser is now configured to use First Link's proxy server.
